In October 2010 we were notified of our success in bidding for a 'Big Lottery' grant  to build new station and provide training equipment for our junior members.  Click on the pictures below for more information about the projects.

The funding success would not have been achieved without the tremendous assistance of Voluntary Action Wokingham Borough (VAWB), in particular Dave Soper the Funding Advice Worker and Amy Battle the Development Worker.  Amy provided valuable support in the setting up of the junior section and the production of the policy documentation.  Sadly, due to difficulties securing future funding the VAWB Trustees decided to wind up the charity in Spring 2011.

The Big Lottery Fund’s 'Awards for All' programme aims to help improve local communities and the lives of those in need.  Fiona Dempsie, the Big Lottery Fund’s head of region for the south east – which saw 31 local groups and organisation benefit from the scheme this time around, said: “These projects will bring real benefits to their local communities, whether through providing opportunities to learn new skills or improving health and wellbeing and we are pleased to be able to support them with funding from Awards for All.   “They are great examples of how relatively small grants can make a big difference.”
