When Moose Jaw was too thirsty
Moose Jaw was one of the North American C19 Class 2-8-0's at Pinewood Miniature Railway.  He was named after a small Canadian town, and has a cheerful attitude.  Moose Jaw has only ever been angry once but it hardly showed.  Moose Jaw is red, brown and black with a snow plough at the front.  This is the story of Moose Jaw.
Moose Jaw and Thunder Hoof where hauling trains alongside Gentoo and 1466 around the circuit.  Royal Alex was in the siding going up and down the sidings driven by Mr. Matthew. It was quite a damp day, and the railway was very quiet.

“I say!” Moose Jaw spoke.  He had the most ridiculous American accent imaginable.  “I say I’m feeling rather thirsty again and my boiler pressure is getting rapidly lower!”

“But you’ve only just had a drink!” said Mr. Adam.

“Still thirsty!” Moose Jaw replied and by all means do start to worry!  Moose Jaw’s boiler was leaking!

“Quick! Get Royal Alex down here!  And Wheezing!”  Mr. Adam called.

“I’m afraid Mr. Matthew has accidently derailed sir!  But he’ll be down in a moment.  Wheezing. Thunder Hoof, Gentoo and 1466 got out of the way.  Wheezing was coupled up to Moose Jaw in no time!

“Come on then Moose Lips!” Wheezing, the Class 08 shunter told Moose Jaw.

“It’s Moose Jaw!” Moose Jaw corrected him.

“Sorry about that Moose Jam, I always get confused!”  Wheezing said and he towed Moose Jaw away.  Royal Alex was soon in service.

Moose Jaw was put into a siding with Black Five, Phantom and Traction.

“Mr. Paul will soon have you fixed, no problem!” Traction said.  He and Black Five and Phantom could see Moose Jaw was upset.  Indeed he was.  It was his first steaming since he had crashed off the viaduct and he hadn’t lasted one hour.

“I will tell you what!  I’ll go and get something from the scrap yard to fix you up!” offered Phantom.  He was very creepy.

“I think Traction should go!  He takes a lot less preparing than the rest of us do!”  Moose Jaw suggested.  They all agreed and Traction went out to hunt for a truck with some sort of crane device at the back.  He picked out one of the tipper trucks and a highly electrified truck with a crane on it from somewhere. The brave locomotive set out to the scrap yard.

On the way round, he passed 1466 who barged through the sidings and deliberately held Traction up.  Traction went back to the viaduct to watch the sparkling water pass underneath his bogie.  But, little did he know that the bridge was unstable and he plunged into the stream below!  There was an almighty splash!  Meanwhile, Moose Jaw was being repaired on the repairing pit.

“It was just a loose valve! Nothing to worry about any more Moose Jaw!”  Mr. Colin told Moose Jaw.
“Why thank you sir!  Now I must go and find Traction!  He went to the scrap yard with the tipping truck and a dynamometer car to get some metal to repair me!”  Moose Jaw said.  “I’ll come with you!” Mr. Colin said, and they raced off to find Traction.

They found him in the lake crying for help!

“We’ll get you out of there!”  Moose Jaw cried. He used the dynamometer car and managed to haul Traction out of the water.

“Thank you!” Traction sighed with relief, and they both headed back to the sheds.
