Sylvia and the little bird
Sylvia is a scale version of a Romulus 0-4-0 Class locomotive.  She is very reliable and likes to do things on time.  Sylvia is a colour between blue and purple and has an Australian accent.  She is one of the only female steam locomotives at Pinewood Miniature Railway and this is her story.
Sylvia was up early.  She wanted to enjoy the colourful sun rise.  The sky was orange and pink.  The clouds were hard to see.  Gentoo puffed out too.

“Beautiful isn’t it!”  Sylvia said.  She had quite a girly voice.  Gentoo, a Stafford class locomotive, agreed.  Then, Sylvia heard an almighty cry!  A bird was gliding over the railway, so why was it making a horrible noise? Its wing was broken!

“Oh no!”  Sylvia cried and hurried off to chase it.  She had to go round the bridge loop and by then she had lost it.  Sylvia tooted for help.  Metropolitan arrived with the dynamometer car.

“We’ve got to find a fallen-out-of-the-sky bird!” Sylvia ordered Metropolitan.  They both set off to hunt for the bird.  They eventually found it.  It was lying on the ballast on the side of the track.  Metropolitan honked and Sylvia whistled as loud as they could and Sweat Pea arrived with the comfort car.  Metropolitan picked the bird up with the dynamometer car and put it in the truck.  They hurried back to the shed and had a look at the bird.  Sweat Pea hauled the truck up onto the elevated track and Metropolitan picked the animal up and put it on the elevated track itself.

“One of you get the medical kit” Sylvia said.  Sweat Pea was still connected onto the truck and didn’t want to move.  Metropolitan grabbed it with the apparatus in front of him.

“The wing is broken!  Bandage it quick!”  Sylvia noticed the bird was waking up. Metropolitan used the dynamometer car to bandage the wing. The bird squawked like it was saying “Thank you!”

“You’re welcome!” Metropolitan said.  The bird got up and flew into the shed.  It had been making a nest above Sylvia’s berth!

“Yes! You are more than welcome to stay there!” Sylvia said.  Just then, there was a loud cracking noise coming from inside the shed!  Sweat Pea had got down now.

“There is no need to worry!” Sweat Pea said.  She was right!  The bird had laid some eggs which had just hatched.  Every one cheered and whistled and honked.  Sylvia had saved the day!
