This 5 inch gauge locomotive was built to drawings supplied by Doug Hewson which were subsequently serialised in Engineering in Miniature. Apparently Doug Hewson allocated the loco number in sequence for each customer who purchased his drawings, so as Derek was the 112th customer the loco became number 80112. The full size locomotive 80112 spent all of its working live operating from a shed in Glasgow.
